Internally, the latest premium smartphone from Honor is powered by a Hi-Silicon Kirin 970 processor. For India, there is only one variant but that one has 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It has 4GB of RAM and a choice of 64GB or 128GB of storage space. On the back Honor has put two camera lenses in a camera bump, rather than flush on the Honor 9, which are made up of 24 megapixel and 16 megapixel lenses with an f/1.8 aperture.
The first is the advanced AI 2.0 technology, applied chiefly to the smartphone’s dual camera. The phone will run Android Oreo via its EMUI fork, which is now at version 8.0 itself. The handset will be packed with 3400 mAh battery with fast charging. The phone comes with a Type-C connector, Bluetooth 4.2 and aptX for audio.
– The Honor 10 takes a lot of inspiration from the Huawei P20, if you were to talk about looks and feel. (The sensor and pixel size of both cameras remain unknown for now.) Crucially, the camera does have “high quality” electronic image stabilization (EIS), unlike the Honor View 10. All models boast 15 layers of polished glass around the back, giving the phone a distinctive reflectivity similar to last year’s Honor 9.
The phone is expected to be available in four color variants including Black, Red, Gold and Blue. It is also front-facing since it is housed inside the chin of the smartphone.
Oh, and yes, the screen has a notch.
In addition to the screen cutout on top, Honor 10 also has a bottom bezel like the Huawei P20 smartphones.Honor 10 features Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingeprint sensor which is placed at the bottom bezel. Finally, it also has a home button, with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the glass. 16 and 24-megapixel cameras (RGB and monochrome lenses, respectively) are included on the back of the phone, while a single 24-megapixel camera sits on its front side.
Apart from the display, the main highlighting feature of the Honor 10 is shooting prowess. “That’s what we work hard for everyday at Honor”. The company has sent out invites, however, the invite doesn’t mention the name of the phone. Portrait Lighting is available as well, and there is also AI recognition of multiple objects.
Coming to the camera, the smartphone sports a dual camera setup at the rear. It’s slightly heavier though, at 165g to the Honor 10’s 153g. The Honor 10, as a result, can make your greenery look greener, blue sky look bluer, text look sharper, a dog look cuter (pun intended), so on and so forth.
