The update, which Microsoft is internally calling “Windows 10 Update for November” or “Windows 10 November Update”, has been available to Windows Insiders since mid-August.
So far the numbers of Windows 10 are encouraging for Microsoft, which is free to download to those devices which are being run on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. And that’s only within a month of use. The company takes time to create a version of the assistant that reflects local customs (she’ll “bow” to Japanese users, for example) and pulls in information that’s relevant to people in a specific country. Additionally, while any selected files and folders will be moved over to the newer PC, including personalized settings and preferences, installed apps will not make the trip – that particular feature only comes with the $59.95 PCmover Professional edition.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s vice president of marketing of the corporate division, tweeted in a number of tweets that more than 90,000 different tablets and computers are powered by Windows 10. There is also an alternative to the Adobe Reader and that is Microsoft’s Reader app, which is available in the Windows Store and you can download it for free! That would rival Android’s reach and double iOS’s, giving developers a solid base to build an audience on. The company has moved away from its traditional model of releasing a new OS every few years, and instead it will perpetually update Windows 10 the way Google constantly updates its Chrome OS. No more micromanaged unnecessary layer of screens to get through to get to the home screen. Now you can use it to translate voice and text as well. It could result in more subscriptions to Office 365.
