If Kevin Lee wouldn’t have been able to make weight, Tony Ferguson woulda fought him at UFC 216 anyway.so says Tony’s manager. When the card commenced, Lee did an interview with the FS 1 team.
Ferguson and Lee are fighting for the interim belt due to champion Conor McGregor not having fought since he captured the title from Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 last November.
But Attar says Ferg wasn’t about to let Lee off the hook that easy – “If Kevin wanted (to) move forward, Tony definitely did”. We pride ourselves in taking a deeper look into the fighter, and understanding what makes them tick. “My brother-in-law hit me up and said he’d heard from dispatch about the shootings and for me to be careful”. And I just enjoy tiramisu, I ain’t no bitch.
However, both men believe their striking is as good as anyone else’s in the division and may be keen to show off their skills and go for a knockout to send a message to the division and champion.
Anyway, congrats to the Tiramisu Liker for getting the UFC and NAC to allow him to hollow himself out further before going up against one of the most well-trained fighters in the UFC. I’m bringing all that, the people that were harmed, that were injured, that are not here anymore. I don’t know. The brain just works different when you’re looking at a place [on the news] and you were just there.
That type of drop in the face of Ferguson’s well-respected cardio fitness likely increases Lee’s desire to pursue a knockout in the early rounds since the interim title fight is scheduled for five five-minute rounds. “I’m going to outpoint him then I’m going to pin him”.
“When you’re saying, ‘I’ll fight anybody, anytime.’ You’re f-king full of shit”.
“It’s not just about being from Las Vegas or from Detroit”. But, I like to fight and compete. Ferguson and Lee went back-and-forth trading barbs.
In his 10 consecutive title defenses, four wins are via decision, four by submission and two by knockout. “I like a big challenge so he’s got to show me a little bit”. “I want him to live his life”. He’s not a guy who is going to be broken or get down on the cards and suddenly start fighting not to get finished. But, even with the UFC’s decision to continue on, the main event might have nearly been cancelled as Ferguson’s family nearly found themselves in the line of fire.
