Assassin’s Creed movie recruits Jeremy Irons & Brendan Gleeson
Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune, Kingdom of Heaven) and Brendan Gleeson (Edge of Tomorrow, Trespass Against Us) have both signed on for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

As the movie is set in the same world as the Assassin’s Creed video games rather than a live-action retelling of one of them, plot details are now scarce.
Irons plays Cotillard’s father.
“Assassin’s Creed” is co-financed by RatPac and Alpha Pictures.
“Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain”. He soon discovers that he’s the descendent of a line of assassins, and use his knowledge and skills to defeat the shady Templar organization in present day. In that way, the movie will join the books, comics and spin-off games that have helped create a rich, massive and more than a little confusing narrative that spans centuries. Rumours I’ve heard from the set of the film suggest that the film isn’t just going to be called Assassin’s Creed; on set it’s been named Time Out Of Mind.
In fact, numerous people involved did come from a critically acclaimed prestige drama. The film’s lineup of actors, as well as director Justin Kurzel, means the potential is there for not only a film that does justice to the game franchise, but expands upon it in new ways.
