Barack Obama Invites Pak PM Nawaz Sharif to White House in October

According to sources, the ongoing Rangers-led operation against criminal elements in Karachi and recent key arrests carried out in Sindh were also discussed during the meeting between the prime minister and Army chief today. Prime Minister of AJK Chaudhry Abdul Majid welcomed Pakistani PM.


“So it is a primary concern to us and especially with the uptick of the violence in Kabul, this is certainly a priority for us to see that Pakistan takes a very aggressive approach in dealing with the Haqqani network and other actors”, said the official, privy to the conversations that Rice had with Pakistani leadership during her day-long trip to Islamabad.

Commenting on Karachi operation, PM Nawaz said law and order situation in the port city has improved and Karachiites are pleased over it. A successful operation against terrorism is continuing and its achievements are being acknowledged by the entire world.

“Nawaz Sharif stated that his government is drawing attention of the United Nations and the global community towards these violations and threats to regional peace”. He added that they would also not forgive the abettors of the militants. “We have to curb the scourge of terrorism and bequeath a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan to coming generation”, the prime minister said while adding that Pak-China Economic Corridor project will prove an important milestone in the journey of the prosperity and fortification of national economy. This project will be materialised at every cost, he vowed.


“Pakistan is continuously keeping the worldwide community abreast of these provocations, ceasefire violations and trampling of human rights of Kashmiris by Indian troops”, Nawaz Sharif said during his visit to the Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The matters related to talks between Afghan government and Taliban also came under discussion and both the leaders agreed that Pakistan will continue to play the role of mediator between Afghan government and Taliban.
