Watford have announced the signing of midfielder Valon Behrami on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee reported to be around £3 million.
Behrami had only joined Hamburg at the start of last season but was made available this summer following a hard spell with the club.
His earlier stint in England was with West Ham 2008-11.
Behrami has earned 59 caps for his country and has scored twice on the worldwide stage.
Meanwhile, Spurs midfielder Stambouli could follow in the footsteps of his ex- team-mate Etienne Capoue to Vicarage Road after Watford had a bid for the 24-year-old accepted.
Behrami becomes the newly promoted Premier League club’s latest signing of the summer window after also securing the services of defender Jose Holebas from Roma.
The Hornets are continuing to approach the market in an aggressive manner to reinforce their squad and a host of players continue to get linked with the Premier League new boys.
