Denver Broncos cuts and depth chart

In a somewhat surprising move, the Denver Broncos waived running back Montee Ball further emphasizing that what is in the past is in the past. The natural attrition at the position means that Bibbs has a decent shot of being called up to the 53-man roster, where he spent a month past year. With the arrival of new head coach Gary Kubiak, it was a strong possibility he couldn’t recover in time to retain his roster spot. But it’s Peyton’s Place and we all will be watching closely.

With the Raiders claiming just one player among the players waived Friday, they still have some much needed tinkering to do with the roster.

Marshall and Trevathan did not see any preseason game action together until August 29 against San Francisco, but their work that night – as well as in training-camp practices – convinced Elway that he didn’t need to keep extra reserves. He was selected in 2013, representing the team’s running back of the future.

“We’ve got a good group of guys”, Kubiak said. “Nothing is bigger than what we’ve got going on next week”. Weeks are filled with hospital trips and chemo treatments, and despite uplifting visits from Rams’ players, true respite is found watching the Broncos and talking and arguing about the team here.

When his name didn’t come through the wire on Saturday with the plethora of other cuts, there were some that believed Montee Ball was safe with the Denver Broncos.

Argue, debate, question, scream, yell, offend (well, try arguing just short of that one, maybe). Lynch was also a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection (2010 and 2013) and was one of the most fundamentally sound blocking tight ends in his draft class. Dissect the offensive line over and over and over (and then over again until Elway surprises us with a key FA signing so you can start that dissection over again).

However, he played in just five games the following year and struggled with a groin injury that caused him to miss most of the season. Adding to Thompson’s value are his abilities on special teams. I think they could and very well should.
