Kate Winslet Reveals Where She Keeps Her Oscar

The actress, who seduces 25-year-old Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth in her new film The Dressmaker, said it “baffled” her a few people thought women lost their looks as they aged.


The star, is now happily married to Ned RocknRoll, and makes no apologies for splitting with her exes to finally find Mr. Right.

The mom of three has had plenty to celebrate along the way, including an Oscar win and two Golden Globes, but acknowledged the rough patches as well – particularly her two failed marriages. “He’s just so incredibly supportive, and he’s so much fun”, she said.

On her work life balance: “People assume that [actors] go off for months on end”.

Winslet, who won her Best Actress Academy Award for the romantic drama “The Reader“, also told the UK’s GMTV in 2010 that she kept the gold-plated trophy there.

“I threw on this short, dark-haired wig, took all the makeup off my face, took a photograph and sent it – with no subject, nothing”, she remarked.

“I just don’t feel like one, and I don’t live like one either”. “It’s just, those are the cards that life dealt me”.

As she approaches her 40th birthday, Winslet has a lot to be thankful for, and no longer being a victim of self-critiscm is one of them. “And to all of us”.

Kate was married to director Jim Threapleton for three years from 1998 to 2001, and the couple welcomed daughter Mia Honey, now 14, together in 2000.
