A diner lady got sacked from school after she gave free food to the pupils who couldn’t afford for their lunch.
It has been reported that the woman, Della Curry, was the manager of the kitchen at Dakota Valley Elementary School in Aurora which teaches children of between five and 12.
But when she saw few pupils hungry and couldn’t afford the meal – she paid herself their bill.
Despite getting awarded for her kindhearted behavior, the school officials sacked her by saying that this was against the law.
She later said in talk “I had a first grader [aged 5-6] in front of me, crying, because she doesn’t have enough money for lunch. Yes, I gave her lunch”.
She added that this year she had paid 20 bills of the pupils who couldn’t afford their meal.
