Nintendo has announced a new Wii U bundle that packages the 32 GB version of the console with two acclaimed exclusive games, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon.
Although Mario Kart 8 is pre-installed and Splatoon is just a download code, thereby using up most of the Wii U’s storage before you’ve even started.
Mario Kart 8 was the Wii U’s fastest-selling title to date at the time of its release, and spurred sales of the console by an impressive 666 per cent. As per European pricing rules, no MSRP was given for the console.
Meanwhile, Splatoon has found success in the eSports sector, inspiring a $1 million tournament dedicated exclusively to the game.
The Wii U might not have much of a Christmas line-up, but their new hardware bundle still makes for a tempting Christmas present. Two of Wii U’s upcoming AAA games from Nintendo, Star Fox Zero and The Legend of Zelda, are both delayed into 2016, meaning Nintendo will call upon their already-released hits to help carry the holiday season.
