Muslims across the United States and Canada which follow Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Islamic Hijri calendar are ready to celebrate the festivities of the Muslim’s holy day Eid Al-Fitr on Friday, July 17.
Alongwith the UAE and Saudi, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Libya, Turkey, the Philippines, the Balkans, China and Malaysia will mark Friday as the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
During ‘Eid days, families and friends exchange visits to express well wishes and children, wearing new clothes bought especially for ‘Eid, enjoy going out in parks and open fields.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would meet on Friday, 29 Ramazan-ul-Mubarak (Jul 17) for sighting the crescent of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram, 1436 AH.
There were, however, reports that Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai in Peshawar had convened a meeting of local leaders to sight the moon on Thursday evening.
