No Gandhi family member ever received Lalit Modi’s hospitality : Congress

NEW DELHI: ex- IPL boss Lalit Modi is continuing with his “revelations” and “questions” on Twitter.


Modi, who has been described as a “fugitive” by the Congress and is wanted by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged financial impropriety, tweeted: “My Q to #rahulgandhi and #robertvadra did you ever receive any hospitality from @lalitkmodi – and did u declare it to @INCIndia #lalitgate”.

The Congress, however, has denied such claims and said all such allegations are baseless.

The picture shows the influential men sitting with other celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone taken reportedly during one of the IPL matches.

In his latest series of tweets, Modi has asked Rahul and Vadra if they ever received any hospitality from him.

Referring to media reports, the complainant alleged that Lalit Modi through Twitter has tried to destabilise the country by dropping names of one leader after another in connection with some wrong practice.

Lalit Modi has also tweeted a picture of him with Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra. “They should prove they are not compromising with their principles by siding with the ruling party”, Mr Azad said. “CBI probe should be ordered into the money deals struck among Raje, her son Dushyant and Modi”, he said, adding that the investigation be made under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Gandhi’s meeting with internet entrepreneurs and business leaders came close on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching the “Digital India” campaign.

Lalit Modi’s links with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje have kicked off a political storm, with the Congress demanding their resignations.
