About 250 congregants at Garden Valley Church stood at their seats as vocalists sang the Christian ballad “We Shall Not Be Shaken”, then watched a slide presentation about the shooting victims after the minister had asked children in the sanctuary to be excused.

Police searched his apartment and found two pistols, four rifles and a shotgun, she said. Others were killed after being told to crawl across the floor.

Authorities have not disclosed whether they have an envelope or package from Harper-Mercer.

The shooting appears to have started in one building before the gunman moved to the school’s science building, the source told CNN.

Hanlin noted that Mercer exchanged fire with two officers before committing suicide, contradicting earlier statement the shooter was “neutralized” by police. However, she wouldn’t say whether that meant the shooter had been arrested or was killed. A man opened fire at the school before dying in a shootout with police.

The shooting left 10 dead, including the gunman, and seven injured. The contents of the document were not revealed, but described as an effort to leave a message for law enforcement. The official wasn’t authorized to speak publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

A doctor says one victim of the deadly shooting will likely be released from a hospital Friday.

A patient is wheeled into the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center following a shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, October 1, 2015. “And when she turned and she looked at the classroom, the look on her face was horrifying, and that’s when I knew something was wrong”, the student said. One minute later, shots were reported coming from the Snyder Building. They talked and went out to dinner and did things sons and dads do, the father said.

“I heard her gasping for air, but I couldn’t save her”, she said. Many people commented on social media about the importance of honoring the victims for their bravery before the gunman.

They tried to sum up his love for animals in a few words, writing about the time he spent volunteering at a wildlife safari and a shelter.

In Washington, President Barack Obama lamented the government’s inability to pass stricter gun laws even after attacks like the one in Oregon. They were sons and daughters, spouses and parents.

Seven other people were wounded in the attack in Roseburg, about 180 miles south of Portland.

The gunman carried six guns, body armour and five magazines of bullets with him to campus.

In a tweet Thursday, the local fire district advised people to stay away from Umpqua Community College in Roseburg.

The Army said Harper-Mercer flunked out of basic training in 2008.

He also tracked other mass shootings.

“The more people you kill, the more you’re in the limelight”, he said in one post, referring to Vester Flanagan, who shot and killed two journalists during a live broadcast in Virginia in the summer.
