Isidrio Valverde, 40, of the 5100 block of North Sheridan Road, allegedly sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman around 1:40 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of West Belden Avenue, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.
The same man is believed to have grabbed another woman from behind and assaulted her on August 9.
A North Side man has been charged with the sexual assault of a DePaul University student near campus on Thursday. She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition, police said. The attacker touched the victim inappropriately, she screamed and then he fled. Valverde was also cited for not giving due care to a pedestrian in the roadway, police said. That officer was treated at a local hospital and released.
Valverde is scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday.
He also faces three misdemeanors: reckless driving, driving on a revoked license and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
A public safety alert from DePaul University sent Thursday morning said the woman was returning to her apartment at the time of the attack. Investigators said the same man may have tried to sexually assault a woman in the 100-block of West Goethe Street around 12:25 a.m. on August 15 in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.
She’s the 3rd lady to record sexual attack or a sexual attack since August 9 with a comparable guy, authorities said.
