HER-Spike-Jonze-Joaquin-Phoenix“Her”, the movie everyone has been talking about, will have its World Premire at the New York Film Festival. The film is directed by Spike Jonze and stars such stars as: Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and Scarlett Johansson, is set to turn some heads. Scarlett Johansson plays “Samantha” a voice generated machine that falls in love with Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) and they attempt to have a life together. It has been reported that “Her” will close the New York Film Festival and will most likely be seen by quite a lot of people. The film is set to run in the festival from September 27 – October 13, 2013.

With a phenomenal cast, the director of Programming said: “Like many people I’ve come to expect great and surprising things from Spike Jonze, but Her is something altogether new in cinema. To discuss even a little bit of the plot—let’s just say that it’s about lonely people and artificial intelligence—is to deprive first-time viewers of the opportunity of discovering it themselves. The tone is magical, the freedom of the narrative is breathtaking, Joaquin Phoenix continues to be one of the most adventurous actors in movies, Rooney Mara and Amy Adams are unforgettable, Scarlett Johansson’s voice will break your heart, and so will this impossibly delicate, funny, daring movie.”spike-jonze-her-nyff

The movie is said to be a hit with movie goers to the film festival and organizers believe that this is going to be the best thing for the festival to show the film last. In total, 51 films will be shown at the festival and Jonze is excited that his film is going to be featured in New York. With his first film premiering in New York as well, he felt at home. For those who don’t know, Jonze is the one behind the compelling “Being John Malkovich”.

This year’s festival will host some of the most anticipated films to come out in the past including: 2009 – Broken Embraces (Pedro Almodovar, Spain); 2010 – Hereafter (Clint Eastwood, USA); 2011 – The Descendants (Alexander Payne, USA) and 2012 – Flight (Robert Zemeckis, USA). Overall the news that Scarlett Johansson is included in the cast has everyone excited the most. The entire cast selection is great, but many feel that it is her performance as a machine that many are looking forward to. Despite the subject matter, there are many who feel that the film is going to be strangely compelling. Clebrity Insider
