Xbox’s latest update adds 1080p, 60fps game streaming

The update can be done, automatically, through the Windows Store. A new “Very high” game streaming option provides 1080p video quality at 60fps, a significant improvement over the previous best setting, “High“.


In detail, the improved streaming capability of the Xbox One, considering that the internet and bandwidth conditions are excellent, the user can now stream games and videos from the console to any Windows 10 operated computer at a staggering 1080p and 60 fps (frames per second). So much for the Windows Insiders providing feedback that MS actually listens to – that should have been in there at launch – but that’s water under the bridge, now. The games change out each month, so keeping track of what is available, and what you want can be tough.

From the Game Hub page, select Achievements>Compare to see all of the Achievements. Now you can right-click on one of your friends and select Send Message or Invite to Party. Finally, Microsoft has spoken a lot about the ability to retain progress in Fable Legends by playing either on Xbox One or Windows 10, and in theory this could be interesting. The company revealed that all Xbox One users will be able to play, via the backwards compatibility feature, all future Xbox 360 titles made available for free through Games with Gold.

There’s no question that Sony’s PlayStation 4 is walking away from the Xbox One in the console sales race this generation.

Besides that, you’ll now see an animated display for recently played games showing you how many friends have played each title along with the four most recent players.


Enabling this, however, requires both an update to the Xbox One console itself as well as the Windows 10 PC’s Xbox app. To enable the high-def streaming, the Xbox app must be at version number 8.8.15003.00000 or higher. Imagine how great it would be if you could play with all your friends on the next Federation Internationale de Football Association or Call of Duty, regardless of the platform they chose to buy. Microsoft is enhancing that screen with this update; a grid now lets users easily sort through their many games. Windows 10 was built with gamers in mind, integrating some of the most popular Xbox features such as Game DVR, screenshots, Avatars and Achievements. You can check which version you’re running by opening the Xbox app, clicking the Settings cog in the bottom left of the window and scrolling down to “About” under the General tab.
