Trump stunned Republicans by telling The Washington Post in an interview Tuesday that he wasn’t ready to endorse Ryan, who faces a primary contest in Wisconsin next week.

Whitman is the C.E.O. of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and former C.E.O. of eBay.

“As a proud Republican, casting my vote for President has usually been a simple matter”, she wrote. “Trump’s instead hand would endanger our prosperity and national security”.

A spokeswoman for Donald Trump has blamed Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the 2004 killing of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan in Iraq – even though the death occurred more than four years before Obama became president.

Whitman also divulged that the Clinton campaign approached her one month ago to seek her support which shows the Democratic candidate’s strategy to sway the Republican elite who are dissatisfied with Trump’s unorthodox election style. “In a tumultuous world, America needs the kind of stable and aspirational leadership Secretary Clinton can provide”.

Whitman ended her statement endorsing Clinton by calling on all Republicans to follow her, saying: “I urge all Republicans to reject Donald Trump this November”. Also, Rep. Richard Hanna of NY became the first Republican member of Congress to say he will vote for Clinton.

Clinton herself asked Whitman for her support, the businesswoman told the Times, which was the first to report the endorsement.
