The primary for Ryan’s House seat is next week and Ayotte’s primary is next month. Obama asked. “What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer?”

Obama questioned whether Trump would “observe basic decency” as president, argued he lacks elementary knowledge about domestic and global affairs and condemned his disparagement of an American Muslim couple whose son was killed while serving the U.S. Army in Iraq. Ryan was also one of just a handful of Republican leaders that attended Trump’s convention in Cleveland in July. “Beat Crooked H!” the Republican nominee wrote on Twitter early Wednesday, referring to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is furious about the dispute with the Khans and has spoken with Trump repeatedly asking him to change course, ABC News reported Wednesday. “He is unrepentant in all things”.

Republican Donald Trump insisted on Wednesday that his White House campaign was unified, even as he faced a strong backlash from some in his party over his insistent criticism of the family of a dead American soldier. While not a household name, her decision to leave the party rocked those who make politics their profession. This is the woman who, after all, has switched her support for presidential candidates in some major ways within the past three elections, voting for Obama in 2008, working for Ted Cruz’s senate campaign in 2012, and quickly rising to spokeswoman for The Donald’s presidential bid.

Obama and Clinton, his one-time secretary of state, had “destabilised the Middle East” while putting the “country at risk” with Clinton’s use of a private email server, he said.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a longtime Trump ally, has said it was inappropriate to criticise the Khan family. This came after one of the most tumultuous weeks of Trump’s presidential campaign. Since entering into a war of words with the Khans, Trump has been condemned by Democrats, Republicans and military parents, yet in a defiant interview Tuesday, the mogul admitted he doesn’t regret his Khan remarks.

At the Democratic convention, the Pakistan-born Khizr Khan told his son’s story, questioned whether Trump had ever read the Constitution and said “you have sacrificed nothing”.

McCain had been particularly incensed over Trump’s insults against the parents of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, chiding Trump’s decision to “defame those who are the best among us”.

Manafort’s interview comes as Trump has fueled a spat with many in his party’s ranks over his refusal to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan and Sen.

Tensions were already running high between the two high-profile Republicans, who will have to work together closely should Trump win the presidency. “And we are confident in a victory next week regardless”.

“I meet with Donald Trump all the time”, Giuliani told the Fox Business Network, suggesting that Gingrich used the word, “intervention”, in a recent memo. “The only need we have for an intervention is with some media types who keep saying things that aren’t true”, Manafort said.
